Congregational Church High St and URC Bury Road Gosport History

This page shows some photographs and history of the Congregational Church High Street Gosport Hants on the site that became the Main Gosport Post Office and is now (2018) a Poundworld Shop (which has now closed and is empty). Dose anyone know where the plaque that was on the Post Office is now? It moved to Bury Road after being bombed during the Second World War and a time til the church was rebuilt was held in The Crossways Hall. It merged with the  Presbyterian Church of England in 1972 to become the URC United Reformed Church.

Bury Road URC Gosport Church closed in 2017 and merged with                                                                                       St. Columba’s URC Elson Road Gosport Hants.

The URC in Bury Road has now closed as above. I understand the Nicholson Hall has also closed so both are available for development. I have not heard what will happen to both buildings. As the Elson Parish hall closed a couple of years ago and nothing, apart from some vandalism, has been done to that building yet, I expect we can expect to see both building deteriorate perhaps to the point where demolition is all that can be done.
